This is even happening with select "select 1 from dual"
Ursache

Possibly corruption of toad files
Lösung

Reset Toad to factory defaults:
1. Go to the Utilities Menu | Copy User Setting | Choose “Create a clean set of user files from base installation”.
2. Click OK to restart Toad.
3. This will reset Toad to factory defaults.
NOTE: by doing this you will lose your preferences and connections information
