Welcome to Spotlight Install Spotlight Start Spotlight Spotlight on Oracle Spotlight on Oracle Data Guard Spotlight on Oracle RAC Spotlight on Unix Spotlight on Windows Spotlight on MySQL Troubleshooting: Connection Problems

Details

Note: Available for Oracle 10.2 and later.

Show performance data for events that contribute to the selected category (of bottleneck), and predict how the performance will change in the future.

To open the Details page

  1. Select a row on the Impending Bottleneck Predictions grid on the Impending Bottlenecks - Timed Statistics drilldown. Each row represents a category of timed statistics for which Spotlight has collected bottleneck data.
  2. Click Details.

Tip: To find out more information on a waiting event in the Timed Statistic Details grid, right click a row (statistic) and select Waiting Events. Spotlight opens the Activity | Waiting Events drilldown page for the event.

Column

Description

Bottleneck Prediction Image

The image displayed here corresponds to the most relevant bottleneck prediction for the timed statistic in this row.

The color of the image represents the predicted severity of the timed statistic at the end-date.

The type of image reflects the shape of the prediction chart in either the Total Time or Average Time sub-page, and indicates the trend for the statistic, either as an average value or a percentage of total wait time, depending on the statistic. The chart style does NOT necessarily indicate that a problem exists.

Timed Statistic

An individual timed statistic within the selected category from Impending Bottlenecks - Timed Statistics. If there is a specific bottleneck within that category, you will be able to identify it in this table.

Example: For the category Disk I/O - Datafile write, the Details table may contains these rows, each representing one type of datafile write event: Data file init write, db file parallel write, db file single write.

Avg Time Now

The average time taken NOW for events of this type, measured in milliseconds.

Avg Time Predicted

The predicted average time taken for events of this type at the end-date, measured in milliseconds.

% Total Time Now

The total time taken NOW for events of this type, measured as a percentage of the total time taken for all events.

% Total Time Predicted

The predicted total time taken for events of this type at the end-date, measured as a percentage of the total time taken for all events.

% Total Time Predicted Severity

A measure of the severity of the Total Time bottleneck at the end date (0 = no bottleneck, 100 = severe bottleneck).

Avg. Time Predicted Severity

A measure of the severity of the Average Time bottleneck at the end date.

Total Time Now

The total time taken NOW for events of this type, measured in milliseconds.

Total Time Predicted

The predicted total time taken for events of this type at the end-date, measured in milliseconds.
