What’s New in Enterprise Reporter 3.5.2

Enterprise Reporter provides a unified solution for data discovery and report generation. Using the Enterprise Reporter Configuration Manager, administrators can easily configure and deploy discoveries to collect and store data. Once the data has been collected, the Report Manager allows users to produce reports that help organizations to ensure that they comply with industry regulations and standards, adhere to internal security policies, monitor hardware and software requirements, and fulfill many other reporting requirements.

As a result of ongoing research and development efforts, and in response to customer feedback, the following changes and improvements have been made in this release of Quest Enterprise Reporter.

Getting Started with Enterprise Reporter 3.5.2

•
A new tenant application, Quest Enterprise Reporter Exchange Online Discovery has been created. If you have existing Exchange Online discoveries, you must open the Tenant Application Manager and configure the new application for each tenant.

Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams discoveries now use certificate authentication. To set up your certificates on tenant application, open the Tenant Application manager, reconfigure the application, and register certificates. The Exchange Online discovery requires a certificate for the full collection. The Microsoft Teams discovery requires a certificate for the collection of policies and settings.

New permissions are available for the Quest Enterprise Reporter MS Teams Discovery application. Ensure you re-configure this tenant application and consent to the new permissions.

It is highly recommended that you re-authenticate accounts used for Microsoft Entra and Microsoft 365 discoveries after upgrade.

Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 rebanding

NOTE: Azure Active Directory is now Microsoft Entra ID.

Azure Active Directory has been renamed to Microsoft Entra ID. This includes discovery type, tenant application name, report library category, all related report types, library report titles and descriptions.
•
Office 365 renamed to Office 365 has been renamed to Microsoft 365. This includes the report library, some report types, library report titles and descriptions.

Updates to the report library

•
The report library structure has been updated to account for the rebranding of Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID. Ensure that you republish the reports in the report library to apply this update.

New "Active Directory Modernization" report library.
•
New library report for domain default password policy information.
•
New library report for privileged user accounts.
