When conditions match different details, a logical AND operator joins the conditions. For example, if you define a hit search using the conditions City = Madison, WI (US) and Browser Category = Internet Explorer, data must match both the specified city and browser to be returned by the search.

When conditions match the same detail, an OR operator joins the conditions. For example, if you define a hit search using the conditions City = Madison, WI (US) and City = Boulder, CO (US), only one of the conditions have to match. The search returns capture data originating from either one of the cities.

In a complex search where City = Madison, WI (US), City = Boulder, CO (US), and Browser Category = Internet Explorer, the search logic looks like this:

("City = Madison, WI (US) OR Boulder, CO (US)") AND ("BrowserCategory = Internet Explorer")

To add or edit a match condition for expert searches:

In the Match Conditions area of the Expert Search dialog box, do one of the following:

To add a new condition, click Add.

•

To edit a condition, click its Edit

icon.

Specify the search criteria.

Table 18. Match condition search criteria
Source	Select the type of web traffic matched by the condition. For example, End to End Time, Request Field, Browser, and so on. NOTE: The other fields change depending on the selected Source.
Source Detail	If available, select some detail to further refine the Source selection. For example, instead of matching all Request Fields, you can specify only Order.BillShip.
Operator	Select an operator that performs the type of match you want to make. Only the operators that make sense for a selected Source type are available.
Value	Specify a numeric or text value (as appropriate). For example, you can specify that a match occurs when Client Time (ms) is greater than 600. Or, for Country, you can select a text string from a list, such as “Canada (CA)”.

Click Save.

Replaying sessions, hits, and sequences

Often it is easier to understand real user data when you can see the page your user viewed. Foglight enables you to replay interesting hits, alone or in the context of a sequence or session.

Introducing the Replay browser

You can open the Session Explorer from any search result that displays the Session Explorer

icon.

To open the Replay browser:

In the search results, click the Session Explorer

icon, and select whether to open the Session Explorer in the current browser window or a new window.

The Session Explorer opens. The active tab is the tab displayed the last time you opened the Session Explorer.

If not already selected, click the Replay tab.

The Replay browser displays the selected hit. The following image and table identify the elements in the Replay browser.

	Element	Description
a	Selection pane	Displays either a list of hits or a list of pages. Select a hit or page to view it in the Replay pane.
b	User Input pane	Displays the input values entered by the user in form fields, or the buttons or links clicked.
c	Replay menu	Navigate between pages, control what is displayed in the Replay browser, or export sessions from here to replay later.
d	Details pane	Displays details about the hit or page.
e	Content pane	Displays the content for the selected hit or page.

To work with hits, in the Selection pane, select the Captured Hits tab.

By default, the list includes HTML hits as well as hits for other resources, such as images, text, and JavaScript.

Click a hit to view its details and content.

The hit’s details appear in the Details pane, and the hit’s content appears in the Content pane.

To work with pages, in the Selection pane, select the Page Visit Order tab.

The pages are listed in the order in which the real user viewed them. For replay purposes, a page is defined as having both page data and HTML.


	NOTE: Pages without HTML do not qualify for page replay. For example, applications such as Siebel, PeopleSoft, and SharePoint®, may contain pages without HTML. In addition, pages identified by user-defined URL classifiers may not qualify. In this case, use the Captured Hits tab instead.
