Defining static page elements

When adding or editing a static page element, you can set the following options.

Option
Setting the Option
Upload File
Specify the resource file, such as an image, JavaScript, or a CSS file, to upload from your local server. When editing a static page element definition, you can either use the existing resource or select a new resource.
Name
Use the default name (which is the file name of the resource you uploaded) or specify a new name. The name is for display purposes only—the uploaded resource remains the same.
Description
Optional—summarize the purpose for this resource. For example, if the resource is unavailable because pages are being served by a content delivery network (CDN), you may want to note that here.
Content Type
Use the default provided when you upload the resource, unless you know that the content type is incorrect. This value is included in the HTTP response when this page element is displayed during replay.
URL
Use the default Ends With: <resource file name> or define a new URL rule using any of the available operators and a full or partial URL. When URLs matching this rule are found as subelements of a page, the replay uses this resource instead of looking elsewhere for the page element.
Start Time
Optional—specify the time when this resource went live on the production web server. All hits with a timestamp greater than or equal to this time (but less than or equal to the End Time, if specified) use this resource during replays.
End Time
Optional—specify the time when this resource was removed or replaced on the production web server. All hits with a timestamp less than or equal to this time (but greater than or equal to the Start Time, if specified) use this resource during replays.

Excluding subnets from data collection

If you are not interested in capturing data for a subnet in your network, you can exclude the subnet by defining a Subnet Filter. Sniffers ignore all traffic associated with the subnet, which means the collected metrics no longer reflect hits and sessions occurring within the subnet.
To configure Subnet Filters, navigate to APM > Configure Advanced Options > Subnet Filters.

In the Subnet Filters dashboard, you can add, edit, and remove subnet filters using the standard controls.

Defining subnet filters

When adding or editing a subnet filter, you can set the following options.

Specify a unique name for the subnet.
Description
Optional—summarize the reasons for removing this subnet from the traffic capture.
CIDR Block
Specify an IP address and subnet mask, separated by a forward slash
(/). For example: 177.18.1.0/7

Integrating Foglight APM with other products

You can integrate Foglight APM with CA SiteMinder Policy Servers (authorization and authentication services) and SafeNet Hardware Security Modules (cryptographic keys). The integration steps are described in the following sections.
