Core Console is showing a banner with the message:
You have reached 80% of your licensed capacity on 1 core(s). Now is a great time to ensure the continuity of your data protection by evaluating your capacity limits.
Equally, the License Portal shows the following banner:
You have reached 84% of your licensed capacity. Now is a great time to ensure the continuity of your data protection by evaluating your capacity limits.
Front-end Capacity Licensing is based on the total amount of data being protected. Front-end TBs are calculated by totaling the amount of data on each protected system only once. Therefore, if a system have multiple backup chains (a base image and all subsequent incremental snapshots), only the largest one will be considered for capacity calculation. Front-end capacity is measured prior to compression and deduplication.
Information displayed on the Core Console does not reflect the front-end capacity consumption. Repository used and free space is displayed on multiple screens, but this amount is compressed and deduplicated. The "Total protected data" value on the "Recovery Points" section of each protected machines will include all backup chains.
The two sources to determine the front-end consumed capacity are the following:
1. License Portal - Licensing screen
2. License Portal List of Cores report
A per machine Front end capacity report can also be generated from the License Portal:
Enhancement request RR-I-484 has been issue to include this information on the Core Console.
