Does LiteSpeed for SQL Server support these tape media systems:
- HP Virtual Library System (VLS)
-Backup Tape Library HP ULTRIUM
These specific tape media systems are not mentioned in the LiteSpeed product documentation.
If the tape media can be accessed directly; similar to a fixed disk or SAN, then LiteSpeed will work and backup successfully to that tape-system. However, if there is a custom API that is required to interface (like TSM) then LiteSpeed will not function.
NB. LiteSpeed does interface with Tivoli Storage Manager(TSM), this backup solution is mentioned purely as an example.
