How to convert a LiteSpeed backup file to a self-executing and self-extracting backup that can be restored on servers that do not have LiteSpeed installed.
N/A
Beginning with Version 6.0 of LiteSpeed, the new xp_slsCreateDCR extended stored procedure, can convert a regular LiteSpeed backup to a Double-Click Restore backup, a self-executing and self-extracting backup that can be restored on servers that do not have LiteSpeed installed.
It will also convert a backup file created by SQL Server to a self-executing and self-extracting backup.
From the Help file:
This stored procedure converts a regular LiteSpeed backup to a LiteSpeed Double-Click Restore backup, a self-executing and self-extracting backup that can be restored on a server instance that does not have LiteSpeed installed. It also performs error checks and a rename on the file if applicable.
To create a double-click restore:
exec master.dbo.xp_slsCreateDCR
@FileName='<path>'
where <path> is the path to the existing backup file.
