The below warning may occur during the backup process of one or more domain controllers:
"Unable to back up some objects in this component: SYSVOL"
This is usually due to the lack of file system permissions on the policy folder or file in question.
WORKAROUND #1:
On the Domain Controller navigate to "C:\programdata\dell\Recovery Manager for Active Directory\Logs". The preinstalled backup agent log is backupagent64.log and if the agent is not preinstalled the log file will be erdagent.log. If both exist, open the log with the most recent date modified date. At the bottom of this log file there should be an entry that looks like the below:
In the above example open the SYSVOL folder on the Domain Controller (default location is C:\Windows\sysvol) and then navigate to the file or folder producing the error. Check the pemrissions on the file/folder. The backup agent will run as SYSTEM so ensure that account has full control.
WORKAROUND #2:
If the permissions are correct and a preinstalled backup agent is being used, uninstall and reinstall the backup agent.
WORKAROUND #3:
Try changing the backup schedule to run at a different time as a process may have the file locked
