When attempting a replication from an ESX host configured through Virtual Center to an ESX host configured directly in vRanger and a previous replica alread exists, possibly from a previous job configured with Virtual Center at the target side job will start but fail shortly after with the above error.
Attach VI client to the target ESX host and remove all replicas of the vm in question.
