When adding SQL Servers to be monitored using Import By File.
The DBSS-Installer log may state the .regsrvr ServerName element is not a match for the @@SERVERNAME set on the SQL Server Instance.
Additionally if discovering instances by host or IP may also fail.
Failed to monitor MySQLServer.MyDomain.com\MySQLInstance Error: [Foglight][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The connection to the host MySQLServer.MyDomain.com, named instance MySQLInstance has failed. Error: "Receive timed out". Verify the server and instance names, check that no firewall is blocking UDP traffic to port 1434, and for SQL Server 2005 or later verify that the SQL Server Browser Service is running on the host.
The SQL Browser is used to detect active instances and the validation process uses the @@SERVERNAME variable to connect to and validate the instance.
Also verify if the SQL Browser port is blocked, the service is stopped and/or the @@SERVERNAME cannot be matched with the .regsrvr file entry. All of these requirements should be checked as they will hinder the import and Agent deployment process.
