When adding a DB2 agent the following error appears
"Missing permissions to create JDBC Driver packages
User {USERNAME} does not have permissions to bind the Foglight JDBC driver required packages"
In the installer log, the following message can be found
ERROR [DB2Installer-1602090225508-1602090578289-1602090578305] com.quest.qsi.fason.db2.installer.callback.DB2DatabaseValidator - DB2 database validation failure for instance [INSTANCENAME] and database [DBNAME]com.quest.qsi.fason.framework.connections.common.exceptions.FrameworkConnectionException: [Foglight][DB2 JDBC Driver]Bind process is not active. Please ensure that the user has permissions to create packages. Caused by: com.dell.dsgi.jdbc.db2base.ddeg: [Foglight][DB2 JDBC Driver]Bind process is not active. Please ensure that the user has permissions to create packages. Packages cannot be created in an XA Connection. -

CAUSE 1
In order to use the 3rd party DataDirect driver, the DataDirect packages must be installed on the monitored instance. With the right permissions (DBAADM) the packages will automaticly be installed on the first connection attempt.The DB2 agent does not request those permissions so the installer and upgrade process will proceed with the following:New Error code named NO_DB_PACKAGES(-74) will be thrown if no bind packages were found on the database.
[Foglight][DB2 JDBC Driver]Bind process is not active. Please ensure that the user has permissions to create packages. Packages cannot be created in an XA Connection- When validating the instance, the error will appear in the instance level.
- When validating the database (installer, upgrade, and connection validation in the Administration panel) the error will appear at the database level.
CAUSE 2
The user may be missing select permissions to SYSIBM.SYSPLAN -
Lösung
RESOLUTION 1
The issue should only happen when the Data Direct 3rd party driver has not been used before.
The user can either grant the permission or use DBAADM. This permission can be removed after the initial install.
In the popup, provide a user with the DBAADM permissions for a one time connection attempt.or- Navigate to Administration | Cartridges | Cartridge Inventory
- Click the icon next to DB2_Bind_Packages to download the file
- Save the downloaded luw.zip file to a directory on the database server and unzip it
- connect to each monitored database using a user with BINDADD privileges
- run the commands:
cd <directory where the bind files are extracted and saved>
db2 bind @DDJDBC_LUW.lst grant public
