Title
Activity reports failing with error 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation' -
Description
When running an Activity report either Scheduled or Manually it returns with an error message 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation' -
Cause
On Checking the xcAdmin.log we see the error message
Severity: Error, Switch: Scheduling Message: Error executing report on the farm (guid- xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx):System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index and length must refer to a location within the string.

Resolution
Open the ControlPoint Configuration Site (e.g. http://servername:1818).
Select the ControlPoint Settings list and expand the Actions and Analyses category.
Edit the "UseCleanedLoginNameInReports" parameter and change its value to False
Save the parameter.
Recycle the ControlPoint application pool in IIS Manager.
