Workaround:
Disable the AI Explain dock panel/tab with the following steps:
Note: Modify both SQL and PL/SQL Editor tab types. By default, SQL tab type is opened. The type of tab is indicated by the tab icon. e.g. the icon will show either SQL or PL/SQL to reflect which type of tab.

- Close Toad if it is open
- Navigate to Toad’s User Files folder
- The default location is %APPDATA%\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\Subscription\User Files, e.g. C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\Subscription\User Files
- Delete all Editor desktop layout files to return the Editor’s desktop layout to its default configuration
- These files match the pattern EditorDesktopLayout_*.lay
- These files exist in the root User Files folder, only
- All files matching the pattern should be removed
- Start Toad
- Open the Editor
- If an error is encountered, click OK to dismiss it
- Right-click within the Editor and choose the Desktop submenu
- Click the AI Explain item to uncheck it – this removes the AI Explain panel/tab from the Editor desktop
- Right-click within the Editor and choose the Desktop submenu
- Choose Save Desktop and click OK to overwrite the current configuration
- If this tab is of the SQL type, open a new PL/SQL tab and repeat steps 6-10 for the PL/SQL tab. If the tab you’ve corrected is of the PL/SQL type, open a new SQL tab and repeat steps 6-10.
