| Notes Doc Links

Specify how CMN’s Mail Connector should handle Notes DocLinks. Select one of the radio-button options.

HTML Links to your Domino webserver: A DocLink converted to an HTML link will not require the Notes client on the user’s desktop, and will instead open into a web browser if iNotes is enabled.
Site Address: The URL for the Domino web server.
HTML links to your SharePoint server (requires Notes Migrator for SharePoint): This option requires that you have Notes Migrator for SharePoint. If you select this option, you must also specify:
Site Address: The URL for the SharePoint server.
The example link (https://serveraddress/_layouts/linktracking.aspx) shown in the screen will direct users to Notes for the corresponding data until it is migrated to SharePoint. After migration, the LinkTracking Service will automatically redirect users to the migrated content in SharePoint.
Notes NDL links (requires Notes client on Outlook users’ workstations to use): This standard DocLink format will work only if the Notes client is installed and running on the user’s desktop.
Convert to NDL Attachment (Requires Notes client on users’ workstations to use): Select this option to replace Notes link with NDL attachments.

| Network Settings

The settings on this screen control how the Mail Connector will process message traffic and how to maximize processing performance:

Port Number to Listen On: The SMTP port that CMN will monitor. The default is 25, but you may specify any port from 1–65535.
Maximum Connections: Number of simultaneous open channels CMN will allow. Default=600.
Maximum Processing Threads: Maximum number of threads CMN will use to process message bodies. Default=16. In most environments, this setting should be set to 4x the number of CPU cores.

The settings on this screen let you configure the Mail Connector to support transport-layer security (TLS) encryption when communicating with inbound and outbound servers:

Disable TLS vs. Enable TLS: Select the appropriate radio button to indicate your choice.
Certificate Store: From the drop-down list, select the location in your network where the certificate resides. If the certificate location does not appear in the list, you must copy the certificate to one of the listed locations using the Microsoft Certificates Management Console, into a LOCAL-SYSTEM account (not a personal account).
The Choose Certificate table on the bottom half of the screen then shows a list of all certificates found in the designated Certificate Store, with the Issuer, the Effective and Expiration Dates, and the certificate Thumbprint.
In the Choose Certificate table, select the certificate you want to install.
Disable SSL v2: This checkbox offers the option to disable SSLv2 encryption to permit connections to Domino servers that don’t support SSLv2 (for example, patched Domino 9.0.1 servers). See this Lotus article for more information.

Remember to Save Configuration (on the File menu) for any changes here to take effect.

Advanced Message Settings are performance-tuning features:

Send Keep-Alives During Processing:  CMN’s Mail Connector is configured to send an SMTP NOOP every 30 seconds, to keep the server from timing out when processing larger messages. You can disable and enable this feature by the checkbox here, and/or set the time interval to some other value:
Send Keep-Alive Message Every __ Seconds: Number of seconds CMN will wait before sending the first NOOP and each successive NOOP (if Send Keep-Alives is enabled). Default=30.
Response Message Mail From Address: The return address that the Mail Connector will insert into the From field of its email notifications to end users—e.g., in a "friendly bounce" to notify a sender that some uncorrectable incompatibility between Notes and Exchange prevents the completion of whatever the sender intended.

Performance Tuning:

Maximum Message Process Time: Maximum time (in minutes) that CMN will spend processing a message before reporting a failure. Default = 4 minutes.
Message Connection Inactivity Time: Maximum time (in seconds) that CMN will wait for a mail system to transmit a message, or acknowledge a transmission from CMN, before abandoning the attempt and reporting a failure in the log. Valid range = 1–600 seconds (inclusive), default = 30.
Maximum Memory Usage Per Message: Maximum memory (in KB) that CMN will allocate for each message, before redirecting to a tem­porary file on the hard drive. (Without the limit, a single very large message could occupy a large portion of system memory, slowing performance.) The valid range for the setting is 0–64 K (inclusive), default = 32. A setting of 0 tells CMN to always use disk files.
Temporary File Directory: The directory to which CMN will write temporary files associated with the Maximum Memory Usage setting above. The Mail Connector will use the Windows TEMP directory by default (if left unspecified), or you can use the Browse button ([...]) to find and specify some other directory. To reset the value to the Windows TEMP default, click Use Windows Default.
