Error during a gathering: EInvalidPointer Message:Invalid pointer operation
说明
Error during a gathering:
EInvalidPointer Message:Invalid pointer operation
解决办法
The account running the gatherings does not have sufficient rights to successfully gather. Please confirm all rights below which came from the Quick Start Guide.
Operational Rights
There are distinct rights you must have to use MessageStats. You require specific rights and permissions for the account you intend to use to perform an Interactive gathering, and for the account configured for use by the MessageStats service.
At a minimum, Exchange 5.5 and mixed mode servers must have the following rights:
- Administrator rights on the Organization object. - Read rights for the administrative shares on the Exchange Server. - View Only rights on the Site objects. - Administrator rights on the Configuration object. - Permissions Admin on the relevant Recipients containers if security is a major concern. OR Permissions Admin on the Configuration object if security is not a major concern. - Read rights to the log files in the tracking log share on the Exchange server. - Read rights to the file system directory (local, NAS, or SAN) containing the Exchange databases priv.edb and pub.edb.
At a minimum, Exchange 2000 Servers must have the following rights:
- View Only Administrator rights delegated at the Organization level. - Read rights for the administrative shares on the Exchange Server. - Read rights to the log files in the tracking log share on the Exchange server. - Read rights to the file system directory (local, NAS, or SAN) containing all Exchange mailbox and public stores in all storage groups.
The following trust relationships must exist:
- Domains where the tracking logs exist must be trusted by the domain where the Gatherer resides. - Domain where the SQL server belongs must be trusted by the domain where the Gatherer resides. - Domain where the MessageStats Reports web site resides must be trusted by the domain where the Gatherer resides.
MessageStats Roles and Permissions
The MessageStats installer automatically creates roles and permissions. The following permissions are included for informational purposes only.
For all SQL Servers housing the MessageStats database:
- The current user must be in the MessageStats Admin local group (for read and write access), or MessageStats Web local group (for read access only) on the computer hosting the SQL server. - The MessageStats database should have the MessageStats_Admin role (for read and write access) and MessageStats_Web role (for read access only). - The SQL server should have logins for the MessageStats_Admin and MessageStats_Web groups, whereby both logins should have access to the MessageStats database for the appropriate MessageStats roles.
For all IIS servers housing the MessageStats web site:
- On the MessageStats Reports virtual directory, ensure that Anonymous Access and Integrated Windows Authentication are selected. - At a minimum, the user accessing the site must be in the Web Report Users local group in order to view the site but not the report content.
The user can also be present in the Web Report Administrators and Web Report Authors local groups, keeping your security hierarchy in consideration.
- On the computer hosting the MessageStats database, ensure that the user accessing the site must be in the MessageStats Admin local group (for read and write access) or MessageStats Web local group (for read access only).
Miscellaneous Rights
ACTION
Specify User Context in MessageStats Server Properties.
DESCRIPTION
This right is assigned to the Service account by the MessageStats Installer; however, Windows does not immediately enable this right. If you are logged on as the Service account when the privileges are granted, you must log off and on for the changes to take effect.
RIGHTS AND PERMISSIONS REQUIRED
Service account and/or account used to run the Gatherer requires the right Act as a part of the operating system to be able to impersonate other security contexts. Additionally, any user account specified on the Server Properties tab must be a member of the local Admins group on the MessageStats server.
ACTION
Gather corrective information about asynchronous server clocks.
DESCRIPTION
When Exchange server clocks are not synchronous, average delivery times can be skewed. MessageStats can correct for these clock variances to provide more accurate delivery time information.
Note: You can configure MessageStats to correct for clock variances on individual servers. By default, MessageStats does not correct for clock variances. You must change the server properties to correct variances.
RIGHTS AND PERMISSIONS REQUIRED
Domain where the MessageStats Gatherer resides must have one-way trusts established to the domain of any Exchange server that may appear in a processed tracking log.
Note: If you do not have these trusts, time correction will not occur for the Average Delivery reports.
