Netbackup restore fails: "the restore failed to recover the requested files" -

When attempting to connect Netbackup with Recovery Manager for Exchange through Emulation mode (Third party backups) you see an error in Netbackup similar to the below:
14:22:00 9/12/2013: Restore Started
14:22:25 - Server status = 5
13:22:26 (40896xxx) INF - Status = the restore failed to recover the requested files
