When attempting to connect Netbackup with Recovery Manager for Exchange through Emulation mode (Third party backups) you see an error in Netbackup similar to the below:

14:22:25 - Server status = 5
13:22:26 (40896xxx) INF - Status = the restore failed to recover the requested files
1. Ensure that you have followed all of the prerequisites as mentioned in the Recovery Manager for Exchange User Guide in the section "Guidelines for Working with NetBackup"
Specifically make sure "NetBackup Client Service" on the Recovery Manager computer is running under an account that has Exchange View-Only Administrator permissions.
Note: It is known that if running NetBackup 7.5.0.5, to make sure the Recovery Manager for Exchange computer has a disk volume whose drive letter is identical to the Exchange server where the database you want to register was originally on.
2. When setting up emulation mode, choose the Exchange database you wish to restore during the process.
