To resolve the issue please perform the following steps:
- shut down affected VM
- using VMware client, browse datastore and navigate to VM's folder
- download VMX file
- edit VM file and delete ddprr-apprecovery-agent-id and ddprr-apprecovery-core-id values
- upload modified VMX file back to the original location
- power on the VM and protect it agentlessly again
If VMs were spun from the template, then template's VMX should be modified the same way
