PXE Boot stuck at "iPXE initialising devices" after BIOS Upgrade (4378222)

After recent BIOS upgrades released by Lenovo, HP, and Microsoft some devices are unable to complete the PXE boot sequence and seem to hang at "iPXE initialising devices".

The issue seems to be related to recent BIOS Upgrades on affected devices.

The following device models have been reported to show issues after latest BIOS Upgrade:

• Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 10, 11 and 12.
• HP Elite x360 1040 14 inch G10 2-in-1 Notebook PC

Please contact KACE Support for assistance applying a manual fix to resolve the issue with PXE boot failing after recent BIOS Upgrade. Please note this change will only work at this time on systems with Secure Boot disabled.

The KACE SDA team continues to work on a definite solution that will also support systems requiring Secure Boot.

Alternative Workarounds:

USB Boot: Download a bootable ISO environment and transfer it to a USB drive for booting. Detailed instructions can be found here.
Offline Deployment: Alternatively, prepare a USB drive for offline deployment by following the steps outlined here.
