Installing vRanger on Windows 8 / 2012
Description

To install vRanger on Windows 8 / 2012, you will need some additional software components.
Cause

SQL Express 2005 is not supported on Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8. If you want to install vRanger on Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8, you must install vRanger using a supported database option other than SQL Express 2005. If you are installing the database on the vRanger server, it must be done prior to installing vRanger.
Resolution
Before installing vRanger on a Windows 2012 server:
- Install the .NET Framework 3.5 features
- Install a compatible version of SQL server or plan to use a remote SQL server.

- Make sure you note the SQL server name/instance, Authentication mode & credentials for the vRanger installation.
Begin the installation of vRanger.
