In order for UCA to operate properly, we should enable TLS 1.2 on all servers that host a UCA component. The Query Engine (Doradus) and Storage Engine (Cassandra) can operate properly without TLS 1.2 being enabled in Windows but is still recommended to have installed on these servers (if using a split role installation).
Investigation shows that TLS 1.2 needs to be enabled on the server(s), wherever the Data Engine service resides. The Data Engine service and Doradus try to establish a connection, via TLS 1.2. Failure to have TLS 1.2 enabled on these Data Engine servers, can cause a failure for the UCA application to start, or cause internal errors within the product. Please see the example below:
