Error adding a column to a table based UDF: "No parameterless constructor defined for this object (4307298)

The following error occurs when adding a column to a new or existing User Defined Function that returns a table. The Create | UDF menu option was used to create a UDF and a table was selected for the returned results. The Column field was selected and the Add button was clicked to add column names to the returned results. The following error occurred:
