Toad compares the scripts as text and cannot recognize the meaning of the script. Toad highlights text differences once it finds them. There are no plans yet to make the compare script recognize keyword differences.
However, the highlighted text will not affect the result of the object comparison. For example, if we have two tables and the only difference between them is Collation, and we select the ‘Ignore Collation’ option, the comparison result will still show these two table as equal. When we click the Synchronize button, these two tables will not allow to be selected because they are considered equal.
As of now, this is considered as ‘as designed’, and not a bug. If you would like to submit this as an Enhancement Request (ER) to make Toad recognize keyword differences in the text area, please visit the Toad Idea Pond site.
