User has many long scripts with a lot of transactions in them, and sometimes the transactions can be very long between GO statements. Sometimes they just want to run a single batch of transactions. The current method is ti click and drag after the word GO and highlight upwards until they finds the beginning of that transactional batch. Then they execute it or open it in another Editor.
User would like some way to be able to click on the word GO and have it highlight to the beginning to that transaction set. It could even be a right click on GO and select "Highlight Batch" or something similar. Or the Editor should fold (+ or - navigation similar to other syntax parsing) on the batches.
WORKAROUND:
In the Editor window, there is a tab on the left hand side called "Navigator." You can also get it to appear by right clicking on the Editor window and selecting "Show Navigator." The Navigator window separates each transaction for the user. The user can select the transaction they want and execute it.
STATUS:
An enhancement request has been submitted to the development team for consideration in a future release of Toad for SQL Server.
