Error received if the SQL Server Client is not installed:
"SQL-DMO 8.0 not found"
Installing the SQL Server Client will automatically register the sqldmo.dll. Below are steps on how to enable the SQL DMO Client without installing the Client Side Utilities:
1. Download the attached sqldmo.dll and the sqldmo.rll files.
2. Save the sqldmo.dll to the TOAD for SQL Server installation directory.
3. Copy the sqldmo.rll file into the Client computer and Server in the following directories:
Server: "C:\Mssql7\Binn\Resources\1033"
Client: "C:\Winnt\System32\Resources\1033"
NOTE: The above sample rll file directories are for US English.
4. Right-click the sqldmo.dll file and select "register." If "register" does not appear in the context menu, select Start | Run... and enter
C:\Regsvr32 Sqldmo.dll
5. If the error : "LoadLibrary("C:\Winnt\System32\sqldmo.dll") failed. GetLastError returns 0x0000007e" is received, follow the steps below:
a. Add a directory called "Resources" to the location where the sqldmo.dll resides.
b. Add a subdirectory under Resources called "1033"
c. Copy the sqldmo.rll file to the Resources\1033 directory.
d. When complete, the directory structure should look like:
{Directory that contains Sqldmo.dll}\Resources\1033\Sqldmo.rll
e. Register the dll, select Start | Run... and enter
C:\Regsvr32 Sqldmo.dll
