Alter log viewer is not displaying information when it exists. It gives a prompt noting that no records exist. This is usually and issue for the views of Today, Yesterday and Today, Last 7 days. Sometimes it does display information, but display of records is incorrect/incomplete.
Choosing the Entire File view displays correctly, and all logs are shown, even ones that were previously not displayed when under other views.
Example:
It is currently July 10. Choose to view records for Today, all July 10 records display correctly. Choose to view records Today and Yesterday, but only July 10 records are displayed. July 9 records are not displayed even though it can be confirmed that logs for this day exists (i.e. display Entire File correctly shows July 9 records). Similar problems exists for the view for Last 7 Days (i.e. July 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are not shown as expected).
The Alter Log for the database uses a date format not handled by Toad. Toad is coded to parse dates with leading zeros. Servers on Unix platforms may not write logs with dates that use leading zeros and Toad misreads this as logs not existing. Servers on Windows platforms should be unaffected.
WORKAROUND:
Load the view for Entire File, then do a column sort on the date column for the days that need to be reviewed.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future version of Toad for Oracle.
