Editor displays extra space before % character and selection adds space in middle of token -
Description
Whenever the cursor is placed on a line with %ROWTYPE parameter declaration, Toad adds an extra space before % character.
For example line below
PROCEDURE Test (Id IN a.testID%TYPE);
is replaced by
PROCEDURE Test (Id IN a.testID %TYPE);
Space is also sometimes added at random place when trying to select an object before a dot. -
Resolution
Configuration file corrupted
Close Toad for Oracle
Go to C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<version of Toad>\ . For example: C:\Users\jsmith\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\17.1\
Locate file EditorLexers.xml and back it up outside the user files folder
Remove file EditorLexers.xml
Note: this file contains information about the Toad option in View | Toad options | Color Schemes.Please set up this option again in case it is being used.
