Error "Toad for Oracle has stopped working" when launching or closing Toad -
Description
When launching or closing Toad, the following error occurs:
"Toad for Oracle has stopped working"

Cause
If the error occurs when launching Toad, there could be a corruption in the installation file of Toad for Oracle.
If the error occurs when closing Toad, in a restricted environment (e.g. when there is no access to the internet) the automatic updates setting " Notify me when an update is available, but let me download it manually" can generate the error.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
For the closing error, Set Automatic updates to: "Don't automatically check for updates. I will check for updates manually". This option can be found in Toad for Oracle menu | View | Toad Options | Startup
For the launching error, Re-install Toad for Oracle
