Description
Executing a select statement from an Oracle 8i to an Oracle 11g DB via DBLink with Toad for Oracle 12.7 provokes and error:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
This exception does not occur when executing the query from SQL Plus on the server.

This issue is caused by a defect or incompatibility in Toad for Oracle 12.7 for this particular scenario. -
