Getting "Stream Read Error." when launching Toad.
Description

When launching Toad, the following errors appear:
"Toad for Oracle has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
And
"Stream Read Error."
Cause

The Oracle Client was corrupted.
Resolution

Re-install the Oracle Client and verify it is a supported version by Toad.
In order to verify the supported Oracle Client versions please look at Toad's Installation Guide - System Requirements.
The Oracle Client bit version has to match the Toad bit version. You must use the 32-bit version of Toad with the 32-bit Oracle client, and the 64-bit version of Toad with the 64-bit Oracle client.
