How do you create an “Exclude File” using the Schema Compare feature in Toad for Oracle?
See attachments for screenshots.
One can generate the Schema Compare Exclude file (.sce) after running a Schema Compare and clicking on the ”Create exclusion file from unchecked items in the results set” icon. This icon is left of “Save” icon that will create a file that contains the names of objects that are unchecked and will be automatically unchecked next time.
The last saved .sce file will be populated automatically in the “Exclude File” field.
Clicking on ( … ) opens a Window to load previous saved .sce files.
The “Exclude File” is a text file with and an extension of .sce is a list of object names.
One can either build it yourself or allow the Schema Compare to create it.
Below is a sample of the .sce format.
# Object type is not required. It is just there for your reference.
# You may exclude it when adding more objects to this file.
