Emailing a report via the Report Manager generates a "164: Please specify sender (From)" error.
The Toad warning message displays:Email notifications of Toad report have not been configured. Go to the Email Settings page in Toad Options to setup email.When the Toad Options email settings are checked, the settings pass the Email Check test and test email is sent properly.
There is nowhere else to make Email settings to get past this message.One is unable to send email within Report Manager as in previous 12.1 version.Another similiar scenario can be:On the second window, there is a required fields are empty is listed in red. However, this does not tell the user what fields are missing,
Once the appropriate fields are filled, one gets the export screen and this error:
161: SMTP protocol error. 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type. -
Cause
Toad Reports (Fast Reports) used to have its own e-mail mechanism.
Early in 12.5, it was using Toad's e-mail mechanism.
Later on in 12.5, the e-mail options panel was re-written and the Toad Reports e-mailing broke. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
One can setup the Report Manager to export the report to a file, afterwards use the automation designer to setup an action that will e-mail this file.WORKAROUND 2:
This issue is fixed in the current beta. Join the beta program to use the current fix.

WORKAROUND 3:
(This is probably the best workaround)User can work around by editing ToadMail.ini (C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\\User Files )and adding or editing the [Reports] section.
Below is a sample what it should look like:

TO0=[email address]Make sure that Toad for Oracle is closed when you make this edit.

Steps to create issue In the Preview window, click on the Export icon. Select Email… Fill out the email window with the same settings as in Toad for Oracle 12.1 . Leave defaults HTML and Advance, Fill out the subsequent email window. (In 12.1, this used to be another tab within the email settings window. Now one cannot go back and check the previous email fields.)
