When using a small font for the results displayed in the data grid, the height of the rows is not tall enough to show the the whole character. This causes commas to look like periods and all lower case letters to be truncated.
WORKAROUND:
Switch to a different font, such as Arial. This font does not have this problem when in small font.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix to be released in a future version of Toad for Oracle.
