Description
Toad for Oracle 13 is slow to connect due to background statements it runs during the connection process. The connection can take around 40 seconds. After tracing the slow statements, these same queries run quickly in the Editor once the connection is established. -
Resolution
This has not been replicated internally, but the developers raised TMB-2657 to look into the startup procedure and move some checks Toad does to the initial pl/sql startup block and run them with Execute Immediate. This may help to improve the connection performance in an environment that shows the issue.
