Toad for Oracle 9.1 continually hangs and crashes at random times when using the software.
Check the version of the Oracle Client that's installed and the Oracle Database version that's being connected to.
If Toad 9.1 is being used with an Oracle 8i client to connect to an 8i Oracle database, this may cause instability issues. In which case, for use of Toad 9.1, these instability problems are likely to be resolved by upgrading the Oracle client and Database to version 10g, or at least 9i.
Please ensure that at least a 9i Oracle client is installed on the local PC, if connecting to a 9i database.
If connecting to a 10g database, for best results, please ensure a 10g Oracle client is installed.
