How to reset Toad back to the initial factory default clean setting and bring over previous connections info?
WORKAROUND #1 - Using the Toad Utilities GUI
1. Go to the Utilities Menu | Copy User Setting | Choose “Create a clean set of user files from base installation”.
2. Click OK to restart Toad.
3. This will reset Toad to factory defaults.

If you need to manually migrate the connections history, passwords, and SQL history from old settings to the new setting do the following:
1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder
3. Open the User Files folder and locate the following files and perform a Copy them:
IMPORTANT: Make a backup of the above files before proceeding just in case of errors.
4. Paste the files in the User Files folder of the newly created "12.x" folder - "C:\User\<User_Name>\AppData\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\12.1\User Files\" (Replace the existing ones there).
5. Re-launch Toad and your connection information and passwords and SQL History will be back in-tact.
If you need to revert back to your full previous setting:
1. Go to the Utilities Menu | Copy User Setting | Choose “Copy user files from a previous installation”
2. Click on the dropdown arrow to locate your "12.x_bak" folder or use the ellipse button to locate it in your Toad directory.
3. Click OK to restart Toad.
4. This will reset Toad to the previous setting.
WORKAROUND #2 - Manually renaming the user files
1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder
3. Locate the "12.x" folder and rename it to "12.x_OLD".
NOTE: If you have other versions in both of the above locations (i.e. 11.6, 10.5, etc. folders), rename those as well; otherwise, Toad will copy the user files from those folders.
4. Re-launch Toad 12.x.
5. Re-enter your Toad license key and during initial setup, select the option "Do not copy my user files. Perform a clean install." And click next.
6. Continue with the initial setup.
