Dbms_output appears as Chinese characters for some lines of the output -
Description
When executing a SQL file in the Editor with DBMS Output enabled, some of the dbms output content appears as Chinese characters.
There are no Chinese, or special characters, in the database. -
Cause
If it's a large amount of dbms_output, Toad fetches it as a CLOB, and there is a bug in 14.1 that makes large CLOB values on non-UTF8 databases appear like they are Chinese characters. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
The issue doesn't happen in previous versions of Toad for Oracle.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle. -
