When trying to access Trace File Browser, there is a prompt to set up server side objects. One options is to create a public TOAD user and set up the objects there.
When working in a pluggable database connection, trying to do so gives the following:
"Error: Ora-65096: Invalid common user or role name"
The Toad generated scripts seem to be incorrect and cannot apply to the current connection.
This may also occur when accessing other features in Toad that require server side objects and creating new users.
User is working in the container database.
There are Oracle restrictions/requirements regarding what can be done on the container database.
A Toad user and server side objects should be create in the pluggable database, not the container database. Connect to the pluggable database and access the Toad feature from there (i.e. Trace File Browser, etc).
Please review the user account being used to connect in Toad. Check with the DBA regarding the database, and the user setup and privileges.
