Launching Toad 10 for the first time I receive the prompt to copy my User Files in the Initial Setup wizard, but the location box is blank and the wizard indicates my previous version of Toad installed on my machine is Unknown.
See Attached Screen Shot: Initial Setup.gif
Toad only looks for the User Files located in default folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\X.X
X.X = Version of Toad.
WORKAROUND:
Manually browse to the directory path that contains the User Files of the previous version of Toad. For example:
If the previous version of Toad is 9.6 and it is installed in C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle, place that into the path of the initial setup wizard.
NOTE: Do not include User Files with the path otherwise the manual migration will not work.
To run through the initial setup wizard again in Toad 10:
1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder - C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle.
3. Locate the 10.0 folder and rename it to 10.0_OLD.
4. Re-launch Toad 10.
5. Re-enter your Toad license key and the initial setup will start again.
