Is there a way to import existing data into a new table, and have Toad be smart enough to map the columns with the same name or similar names. If there is anything Toad can not figure out, then the user will intervene.
Example:
Excel sheet with data has columns: c1, c2, c3
Table exists with columns: c1, c3_n, c4
Will Toad be able to map c1 with c1, c3_n with c3? The other columns will then be manually mapped by the user.
There is an option for automatic Field Mapping in Toad. But this option is only available if you have "First Row" set to one in the Import Table Data wizard page for option settings.
WORKAROUND 1:
Set include in the data file, the first row as the column names, and set the Import Table Data options window "First Row" as 2. Then click next. This will bring you to the Preview File and Define Fields page, and should give a Field Mapping prompt that gives the options to "Map fields by matching field names" or "Map fields sequentially".
WORKAROUND 2:
Manually map the columns and data.

Enhancement request ST62694 has been submitted to development for consideration in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
