Schema Brower Data tab shows an extra character for CHAR columns. (4226177)

Viewing table data using Schema Browser Data tab shows an extra space after a CHAR character field. When changing this record, Toad can also issue the following error:

"ORA-12899: Value too large for column:

This is a CHAR(2) column and Toad is adding an extra character to the end of this column, causing the error.

Issue does not exist in Toad 11.5.

WORKAROUND

1. Select View | Toad Options menu option
2. Go under Oracle | General section
3. Under “New format for character set” section change “Unix Style” to “Windows Style”
4. Hit OK and open a new Schema Browser window

Waiting for a fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle
