How can a window be docked/moved to the side of the main Toad layout?
There are some panels in Toad, like SQL Recall, Object Palette, Output, etc that can be opened. Can the position of these panels be changed? If it's a floating window, how can it docked to the side?
The default position of a panel can be changed (i.e. SQL Recall, Object Palette, Output, etc). In most cases click and drag the title bar of that panel and moving it away from the current location to the middle of the screen will un-dock the panel and make it a floating window. If it's already floating and it needs to be docked, click and drag the title bar of that window and move it to the side.
Some windows do not work this way, as they can only be maximixed, restorted down, or minimized (i.e. Schema Browser, Editor, Schema Compare, etc).
RESOLUTION 1:
Click onto the title bar of the floating window and drag it to either the left, right, top or bottom of the Toad layout and release once the gray outline changes from a silhouette of a floating window to a silhouette of a docked window.
RESOLUTION 2:
For Desktop Panels (i.e.Data Grid, Script Output, Messages, etc) there is the option to right click over the title bar | Desktop Panel | Configure Desktop Layout. The Desktop Panels window will appear and from there, for each panel, adjust the Docking Site setting accordingly (either top, bottom, left, or right) and click OK.
