What is the difference between the 'Task Scheduler' and the Schema Browser 'Jobs' tab?
The Toad Task Scheduler is an easy-to-use interface for the Windows 'Scheduled Tasks'. Using this interface, you can create, edit and run tasks from the Windows end. When the task is executing, it will launch the Toad and execute the task in the foreground. For detailed information on the Windows Task Scheduler, please see your Windows documentation.
The Schema Browser 'Jobs' tab runs the scheduled tasks on the server end and does not use the Windows 'Scheduled Tasks'. When creating the job, it will be deployed on the server and will be executed at the specified time. The job will be executed in the background and will not prompt the user when the job has been completed. Users can view the last execution date by viewing the 'LAST_DATE' parameter value in the Schema Browser.
