How do I setup the debugger feature in Toad for DB2?
1) First, verify that you have a license for the "Debugger" module. To verify this, simply go to Help | About. If you are licensed for the debug module, "Debugger" will be listed under the "Toad for DB2 UDB" entry.
2) Open the procedure in the Editor. The Debug menu should be enabled.
Tip: You can right-click the procedure in the Database Browser or Object Palette and select Debug to automatically open the procedure in debug mode in the Editor.
3) Click Compile with Debug on the Debug toolbar.
OR
Select Debug | Compile with Debug on the menu.
When executing a procedure in the Editor, this option tracks whether debug information is compiled into SQL stored procedures. If there are any errors while compiling, Toad notifies you and rolls back to the previous version of the procedure. If there are not any errors, Toad commits the new procedure.
Note: Quest recommends that you turn autocommit off (Tools | Options | Database | General).
4) Drop and then re-create the procedure.
Select the SQL script and click Execute SQL Script on the Editor toolbar.
OR
Press F5.
Note: You must repeat these steps for all procedures the first time you debug them.
