STATUS:
Enhancement request has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad SQL Analysis for DB2.
WORKAROUND:
The instructions below describe how to perform the silent installation on a single Windows machine. The Toad SQL Analysis for DB2 client silent installation must be the first installation on a machine; otherwise, the installation fails. All target installations require the same installation path and installation parameters.
1. Extract the contents of the ToadSQLAnalysisLUW.exe file. You can use WinZip to unzip ToadSQLAnalysisLUW.exe. A Disk1 directory is created with the Toad SQL Analysis for DB2 LUW client install files, including the Setup.exe needed for the silent install.
Ã
2. Create the silent response file at the command line in the location where the install files were extracted, using the following command:
Ã
Setup.exe ââ‚r
Ã
The installation wizard is launched; the selections made in the wizard are recorded in the setup.iss file that creates in the system root directory. To determine the system root directory, use the echo %systemroot% command.
The Toad SQL Analysis for DB2 client is installed on this machine, so in order to test the silent install on this same machine, Toad SQL Analysis for DB2 will need to be uninstalled.
Ã
3. Run the silent install by using the following command:
Ã
<installfilespath>\Setup.exe ââ‚s ââ‚f1<responsefilepath>\<responsefilename> ââ‚f2<logfilepath>\<logfilename>
Ã
An example of the command:
Ã
c:\sqlanalysis\disk1\setup.exe ââ‚s ââ‚f1c:\windows\setup.iss ââ‚f2c:\sqlanalysis\installlog.txt
Ã
4. Verify the silent install completed successfully by checking the install log file. A ResultCode of 0 denotes a successful install.
Ã
This is an example of the install log file:
[InstallShield Silent]
Version=v6.00.000
File=Log File
[ResponseResult]
ResultCode=0
