When first running Toad Edge, it gets stuck on “Verifying connection…” step indefinitely until process has to be killed.
Toad Edge requires you to perform online authentication by signing in to your Quest account at least once per every 30 days. If you are signed in to your account and Toad Edge is able to reach the authentication servers, the process is done automatically on each application launch.
In this case the computer had access to the internet but it used Cisco Any Connect VPN client which may be interfering with the connection.
WORKAROUND
If the connection to internet is not allowed then it is needed an offline license
STATUS
Enhancement request number TE-11202 has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad Edge.
The idea is that Toad Edge informs to contact support to inform there is a problem with the activation.
