Getting "A later version of Toad Edge is already installed" when trying to install -
Description
When running the installer, a message saying, "A later version of Toad Edge is already installed. Setup will now exit." is returned and Toad Edge is not able to be installed. -
Cause
Conflict with an installation of Toad Data Point, Toad for SQL Server, Toad for SAP, and/or Toad for DB2. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
If Toad Data Point is the product preventing Toad Edge from being installed, Toad Data Point can be upgraded to v5.1.4 or uninstalled.
If Toad for SQL Server 7.1 is the product preventing Toad Edge from being installed, upgrade to 7.2 or un-install it.
If Toad for DB2 7.1 is the product preventing Toad Edge from being installed, upgrade to 7.2 or uninstall it.
If Toad for SAP 4.1 is the product preventing Toad Edge from being installed, upgrade to 4.2 or uninstall it.
Once the "problem" product is upgraded or uninstalled, install Toad Edge. If you uninstalled, instead of upgrading, reinstall the product that had to be uninstalled once Toad Edge is installed.
