Copy File activity does not report actual date and time in file name
The feature to add a date and time Suffix in the Copy File activity in the Automation tool for Toad for Data Analysts 2.5 is not working with the actual date any longer. The date by itself seems to work but the 2nd option with the time is not working.
What its doing is showing the contents of the drop-down menu instead of the actual date and time in the file name; i.e.
"<file_name>#yyyy-MM-dd HH-mm-ss#.ext" so an actual file name after the copy feature may look like this: sql_script#yyyy-MM-dd HH-mm-ss#.sql
1. At the beginning of your Automation Script place a Set Variable action from the System Activities section. 2. In the Activities Properties under Misc, set a name like "Curr_Date". 3. Then click on the drop-down arrow for value to bring up Build Expression window. 4. Select Date Functions on the left side, double-click on "Date(yyyy-MM-dd HH-mm-ss)" on the right side so it appears on the top field. Click OK.
NOTE: Click on Test to see if the proper Date and Time appear at the bottom of the screen.
5. Go to the Copy File action portion of the script. 6. In the Suffix section of the properties, change the drop-down list option to "Curr_Date" (or which ever name the variable was given). 7. Save the automation script and re-test the issue.
Waiting for fix to be released in a future version of Toad for Data Analysts.
