Automation script gives "Thumbs.db already exists" error. -

When working with Automation, the following error is given:"<error> "Transfer_File - the file U:\...\folder name\Thumbs.db already exists"Example:Automation script created with a "copy files" activity. This will copy an existing file from one directory to a new directory, and the original is set to be delete.The log notes:..."Script execution completed""Move file U:\...\folder name... to U:\...\folder name...""Copy File finished, click ... to view file""<error> "Transfer_File - the file U:\...\folder name (Processed)\Thumbs.db already exists"When checking the directory, the file was correctly copied over, is complete, and accessible. But why is there an error? -
Resolution
Manually remove the thumbs.db file.
These are hidden by Windows by default. It may be necessary to enable this by going into a Windows Browser | Organize | Folder and Search Options | View | unselect option to "Hide protected operating system files".
While this is unchecked, the thumbs.db should appear and can be removed from the directory noted by the automation error. The hide setting in Folder and Search Options can be re-enabled.

General info about Thumbs.db files: Thumbs.db is an image cache which makes thumbnail viewing faster. The file is automatically created in Windows Vista, 7 and 8 whenever images are encountered in a folder. It's usually hidden but can appear, disappear and is often impossible to delete. These are usually hidden files be default.
